What better way to experience the outdoors than at the Eldersburg Adventure Camp at Piney Run Park? Campers experience all that nature has to offer at Carroll County’s most welcoming park and a schedule packed with fun and adventure. Campers enjoy being grouped by age into groups including Clownfish, Big Tunas, Barracudas, and Narwhals.
ABC Care Eldersburg Adventure Camp is a fully outdoor program with activities held under a pavilion and on picnic tables. The air-conditioned Piney Run Park Nature Center is utilized during occurrences of Code Red and severe weather alerts.

Mondays are STEM Days! Campers enjoy a variety of STEM based activities including art projects, nature hikes, fort building and sign language instruction.
On Tuesdays, we visit the Cascade Pool for free-swim, swim lessons, water slide, Splash ‘N’ Play, volleyball, basketball and team games (weeks 1-10) and extra nature activities and a naturalist program (weeks 11 &12).
Wednesday is Sports Days! Each week, campers enjoy time on the water fishing and pedal boating. We also feature instruction on different sports including lacrosse, soccer, basketball, kickball, volleyball and tennis. There’s always a related art project and fun team events! And, campers cool off on Wednesdays with a visit from the Kona Ice Truck!
On Thursday Trip Days, we venture to a local venue for a fun filled day of bowling, ice skating, roller skating.
Fun Fridays feature games and competitions like Minute to Win It, skill building, an optional Lunch Bunch and more!

Stop at the gatehouse and let the attendant know you are with ABC Care. Proceed to pavilion #6. Make your first left after leaving the gatehouse and another immediate left towards pavilion #4 & #6. Follow signs to pavilion #6. Park in the gravel lot and ABC Care will be under the pavilion.
Amanda Edwards is Site Director at Eldersburg ABC Care. Amanda has taught in the public school system for 10 years and has experience in Head Start and childcare. She earned a Bachelors degree in ECE from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania. Amanda has spent the last 6 years teaching preschool. She enjoys watching her daughter play soccer and basketball. When Amanda’s not at work, she loves spending time with her family, friends, Major (her German Shepherd) and 4 guinea pigs.
Kaylee Ryan, Site Director at ABC Care St. John, has more than 7 years of experience working with children including being a Camp Director and Youth Experience Coordinator. Kaylee earned a Bachelor’s degree from Towson University in Deaf Studies, and is earning a Masters in Deaf Education from McDaniel College. Kaylee enjoys spending time outside and being with her friends and family.
Jessica Madsen is Site Director at ABC Care Westminster. She has worked in child care for more than six years with school age children and will be credentialed through the Maryland State Department of Education later this year. Jessica is part of ABC Care’s Professional Development Committee and Programming Committee. She enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her fiancé and son.
ABC Care school-based and summer camp programs hire supervisors and staff members who demonstrate necessary experience and skills for working successfully with children, including enthusiasm, compassion, patience, and respect.
