Developing skills in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math begins at a young age. Immersing students at the elementary school level helps develop an early appreciation for these core areas to help develop critical thinking and STEM literacy skills.
Exposing students to different cultures and traditions generates a respect for diversity, inclusion and uniqueness and improves cognitive and critical thinking skills and promotes creativity.
Outdoor / Gymnasium Play
Physical play before and after the school day not only promotes health and well-being, but it also is proven to reduce stress levels, brighten moods and improve concentration. Play also enhances the development of social and teamwork skills and encourages exploration, imagination and independence.
Spending time in a before and after care center provides students the opportunity to develop a variety of life skills in a controlled environment where they are encouraged to take risks. Students learn focus and self-control, improve communication skills, make connections, practice critical thinking, tackle challenges and develop self-directed exploration skills, all essential for success later in life.

ABC Care camp counselors who are Certified Red Cross instructors provide swim lessons tailored to the needs of each child. Seven levels are provided from the beginner who needs an introduction to water skills to the more advanced swimmer needing time for stroke refinement and to build stamina.
Campers enjoy heading out for activities that serve to supplement the camp program. Whether to the Pearl Stone Pool, ice or roller skating, bowling or for experiences with nature, campers gain skills, build friendships and make memories that last a lifetime.
Hikes provide campers with an experience that only the outdoors can provide. Whether it’s climbing challenging terrain, participating in a scavenger hunt or examining the wild and aquatic life in the elements, nature hikes provide the perfect venue for valuable physical and cognitive experiences.
Arts & Crafts
Creative arts activities enable students to express themselves, demonstrating imagination and instilling a sense of pride in their work. Our summer camps give our campers many opportunities to build, create and produce special works of art that are unique to them, promoting individuality and boosting their self-confidence at every age.
Sports and Team Games
Participation in sports and team games provides physical activity and promotes wellness, while simultaneously building social and cognitive skills that are applicable during a child’s future school and life experiences.
“ABC Care Center and staff are always dependable. They welcome my son and me every morning with a smile and a ‘good morning.’ It starts my son’s day off in a positive manner. Keep up the good work!”
Jeff M., Parr’s Ridge Elementary School parent
“Always super friendly in the mornings. I consistently observe staff genuinely interacting with children (games, crafts, etc.). They all are very accepting and tolerant of whatever activity the kids choose, even my rowdy 5th grader and his friends! Thank you for two great years!”
Liz B., Piney Ridge Elementary School parent
“My daughter was a part of the ABC Care family while attending Westminster Elementary School. It was a wonderful experience knowing that she was well cared for and the staff taught her leadership skills by encouraging her to assist the younger children in attendance as well. The staff were exemplary, it was very convenient that the service was provided at the school, and the care was very affordable. She is about to go into High School now but I am still grateful for the time that she spent at ABC Care.”
ABC Care school-based and summer camp programs hire supervisors and staff members who demonstrate necessary experience and skills for working successfully with children, including enthusiasm, compassion, patience, and respect.
