St. John Catholic School
ABC Care Center – St. John Catholic School
Serves pre-kindergarten through 8th grade students from St. John, West Middle & William Winchester
Our ABC Care center at St. John is a family that brings together students from three different school communities, creating a warm, welcoming, and inclusive atmosphere for all. We are proud to be an MD EXCELS Level 3 and two-time nationally accredited program, serving students from pre-K through 8th grade.
Our goal is to be a place where students feel comfortable and free to be themselves. School days can be long, and we take pride in offering a space where kids can unwind after a busy day or ease into their mornings.
Our students especially love our sensory bins — from calming magnet stones to a cooking bin filled with rice for measuring and sifting, and a “pebble kitchen” where they can sort or simply enjoy the texture of colorful pebbles. We also incorporate creative, hands-on opportunities to learn new skills like sewing, crocheting, and crafting fun keychains.
We love celebrating the little things, too — including quirky holidays like Bring Your Stuffed Animal to School Day, where plush friends “help out” around the center, National Pop-Tart Day featuring a taste test, and Sports-Themed Days where we show our team spirit with jersey days and group games.
Our students especially enjoy gym time, playing favorites like Sharks and Minnows, soccer, and basketball — and when the weather’s nice, you’ll find them in the gaga ball pit outside.
