Winfield Elementary School
ABC Care Center – Winfield Elementary School
Here at our center, we take pride in transforming the school’s cafeteria into a whole new adventure every day at ABC Care! Even the smallest details help make the space feel special and exciting. We decorate with seasonal tablecloths, add table signs to identify each station (arts and crafts, construction, STEM, drama, etc.), and set up cozy carpet areas for play, reading, or simply hanging out with friends.
In the back of the room, we’ve created a fun game zone that includes ping pong, air hockey, foosball, bean bag toss, ring toss, and more! When the room becomes something new and engaging, the kids know that this is where the fun begins!
We offer daily arts and crafts, STEM activities, Minute-to-Win-It challenges, team-building games, and many other special activities. We also head outside every morning and afternoon (weather permitting), so don’t forget those jackets for the early morning chill! Kids enjoy group games and sports on the blacktop and field, playground adventures, or even strolls around the track.
Some of our special favorites include Snack Shack, Lunch Bunch, cooking activities, and holiday parties. Snack Shack happens every other week, where kids can bring a few dollars to buy snacks, juice, treats, or small toys (all items are under $2). Lunch Bunch takes place on early dismissal days and includes pizza, chips, two cookies, and a juice pouch ($6 for one slice or $7 for two).
Our weekly cooking activities are always a hit—but the biggest favorite of the year is decorating “gingerbread houses” for different holidays throughout the school year! Be sure to keep an eye out for our holiday party flyers—our planning team gets started as soon as school begins each year.
Sound like fun? It is! Our students and staff love their time at ABC Care. Join the fun today!
Timiri Breden first started with ABC Care as a site director in 2015. After taking a break for a few years, we welcomed her back for the start of the 2022 school year. She has just over 15 years’ experience in the childcare field and working as a nanny. She is a certified lead teacher and director in all age groups (infant through school age), after studying at Howard Community College. Timiri spends most of her free time with her two young daughters in Sykesville, where she resides. She also loves painting and creating art projects for herself and daughters!
