Eldersburg Adventure Camp

Eldersburg Adventure Camp at Piney Run Park

What better way to experience the outdoors than at the Eldersburg Adventure Camp at Piney Run Park? Campers experience all that nature has to offer at Carroll County’s most welcoming park and a schedule packed with fun and adventure. Campers enjoy being grouped by age into groups including Clownfish, Big Tunas, Barracudas, and Narwhals.


ABC Care Eldersburg Adventure Camp is a fully outdoor program with activities held under a pavilion and on picnic tables.

Mondays are STEM Days! Campers enjoy a variety of STEM based activities including art projects, nature hikes and fort building.
On Tuesdays, we visit the Pearlstone Conference & Retreat Center for free-swim, swim lessons and a water slide.
Wednesday is Sports Day! Campers enjoy a rotation of fishing and paddle boating. We also feature instruction on different sports including soccer, basketball, kickball, wiffleball and tennis. There’s always a related art project and fun team events! Campers also cool off on Wednesdays with a visit from the Kona Ice Truck!
On Thursday Field Trip Days, we venture to a local venue for a fun filled day of bowling, ice skating, roller skating or Players Fun Zone.
Fun Fridays feature games and competitions like Minute to Win It, skill building, optional Lunch Bunch and weekly fun Friday events! Our Fierce Fabulous Friday Trip’s (FFFT) are for incoming 4th thru 8th graders and C.I.T.’s, weeks 3-6 (extra cost)

CIT Information

Stop at the gatehouse and let the attendant know you are with ABC Care. Make your first left after leaving the gatehouse and another immediate left towards pavilion #4 & #6 . Campers in grades K-3 are dropped off at Pavilion 6 and campers in grades 4-9 & C.I.T.’s are dropped off at Pavilion 4. Please go to the family table for drop off and pick up every day. ABC Care staff will be at the family table to greet all families.

Meet The Directors

  • Brittany Shenk

    Brittany Shenk is our ABC Care Site Director at Saint John Catholic School. Brittany is new to the ABC Care family, but she has been working in childcare since 2007. Through her career as a Preschool Teacher, she has had the privilege of working with children of all ages, from infants to middle schoolers. Brittany has an affinity for sharing her passion for science and reading with her students as well as encouraging their creativity and independence. Brittany enjoys playing video games with her son or visiting museums and science centers with him. When she has free time, Brittany loves to study geology, curl up with a good book, or take a nap.

  • Ashley Appler

    Mrs. Ashley currently has her Bachelors of Science of Elementary Education degree from Stevenson University. She has 6 years of experience with ABC Care and 5 years of experience in the elementary classroom, teaching 3rd and 4th grades. In her free time, she likes to read books even ones in the process of being published, hike or enjoy nature on a nice day, and go to the park or on playdates with her daughter, Skyler.

Deer Park Adventure Camp

Deer Park Adventure Camp

ABC Care Deer Park Adventure Camp, located at Deer Park United Methodist Church, provides fun in the sun for active campers! Our program offers field trips including swimming, roller skating, ice skating, bowling, arcades and more! Each week, campers enjoy art activities, STEM projects, team building, group games, a range of sports and minute to win it challenges.


ABC Care Deer Park Adventure Camp is a fully outdoor program with activities held under a pavilion and on picnic tables. The air-conditioned Fellowship Hall is utilized during occurrences of Code Red and severe weather alerts.

Mondays are STEM Days! Campers enjoy a variety of STEM based activities including art projects, nature hikes and fort building.
Each Tuesday, campers take a field trip to the Pearlstone Conference & Retreat Center for swimming, swim lessons (weeks 1, 2 & 4-10) water fun and active games (weeks 1-10).
Wednesdays are Sports Days! Campers learn and practice basketball, soccer, tennis, kickball and more! Got Game? You will after this Summer! Campers also cool off on Wednesdays with a visit from the Kona Ice Truck each week!
Our field trip on Thursdays takes us to various local recreation sites and adventure trips including bowling, roller skating and ice skating and arcades.
Wrap up each week with a unique Fun Friday Event and optional Lunch Bunch! We have a Fierce Fabulous Friday Trip (FFFT) for incoming 4th thru 8th graders and C.I.T.’s and up on weeks 3-6.

CIT Information

All campers & CI.T.’.s are dropped off at the Pavilion.  Pull into a parking space and staff will greet families at the car this year for sign in/out.

Meet The Directors

  • Jessica Keller
    Jessica Chambers is quick to build relationships with the students and their families. Jessica loves to play card games at the centers with the students, especially Phase 10. Jessica is currently working on obtaining her Elementary Education degree from Liberty University. Jessica loves to teach children while encouraging them to follow their dreams. Outside of work, Jessica loves to take naps, be with family/friends, and be outdoors.

  • Timiri Breden
    Timiri Breden was previously employed with ABC Care as a site director during the 2015-2016 school year. We welcomed her back for the start of the 2022 school year. She has over 10 years experience in the childcare field and is a certified lead teacher and director in all age groups (6-weeks through school age). She studied at Howard Community College where she received all of her certifications and continuing education coursework. Timiri spends most of her free time with her two young daughters in Sykesville, where she resides. She also loves painting and creating art projects for herself and daughters!
