ABC Care Center – Parr’s Ridge Elementary School
The ABC Care Center program at Parr’s Ridge, is a MD EXCELS Level 1 Center with three national accreditations, serving students in kindergarten through second grade. We provide a daily structured routine, with a balance between enrichment activities and social engagement. Weekly programming is centered around a theme and planned activities assist children with social and emotional development. Each month the center focuses on a character trait to reinforce values such as respect and kindness. Children enjoy supervised free play time on the school’s large playground and blacktop areas as well as in its large gymnasium.

Meet Our Site Director

Since 2009, Meghan Murphy has served ABC Care as a District Manager, overseeing the Mt. Airy locations and the Licensing and Regulation Team for ABC Care. She also serves as Site Director at the Parr’s Ridge location, a position she has held since the center’s opening, and serves as Manager and Co-Site Director for ABC’s summer camp in Eldersburg. Employed with the company since 2005, Meghan served previously as Site Director at the Eldersburg Elementary location. Meghan earned an Associate of Arts degree from Montgomery College and has completed coursework in child development and psychology. She resides in Mt. Airy with her husband and middle-school-age twin sons, and enjoys spending time with family, watching her sons’ sporting events and walking their twin dogs.

Kaitlin Sheppard is Assistant Site Director at Parr’s Ridge ABC Care. Kaitlin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Shepherd University. Kaitlin is experienced in working with school-age children. Most recently, she served as a camp director in the area. She enjoys tent camping and attending the sporting events of her four nieces and nephews.
